The Schoolcraft Community Library needs your input. As we plan for our future growth, we want to make sure we're including your needs in our plans. If you received a survey form in the mail, please consider taking a few minutes to complete this survey and share your opinions about what you want from your community library. If you did not receive a survey in the mail, please stop by the library to pick up your copy. The survey asks about the services you currently use in the Library and asks you to rate your satisfaction. We want your help in identifying areas that we can improve upon, and we welcome your suggestions for any services we may not be currently offering. Please return completed surveys to the library during the month of October. Surveys can be dropped off in the confidential Survey Box at the front desk of the library, or re-folded, taped closed, and mailed back to the library postage-paid. You can choose whether you'd like your comments to remain anonymous. We'll post the results of the survey in the library once we have compiled all the responses. Thank you in advance for your help. We value your time and opinions and look forward to a bright future for the Library with your involvement! |
OCTOBER 2005 ADULT BOOK CLUB SELECTION
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon
.. is a murder mystery of sorts -- one told by an autistic
fifteen-year-old, Christopher John Francis Boone. Christopher knows
all the countries of the world and their capitals and every prime number
up to 7,057. He relates well to animals but has no understanding of
human emotions. He cannot stand to be touched, and he detests the color
yellow. He is mathematically gifted and socially hopeless, raised in a
working-class home by parents who can barely cope with their child's
quirks. He takes everything that he sees (or is told) at face value,
and is unable to sort out the strange behavior of his elders and peers.

| Brown Bag Storyhour ... The Schoolcraft Community Library is beginning it's monthly Brown Bag Storyhour for those students in Young Fives and Kindergarten. This storyhour begins on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 and runs from 11:10 to 11:50 A.M. so that students from both morning and afternoon classes can participate. It is a fun time of reading stories, eating lunch and sometimes singing songs, doing fingerplays, playing games etc. Morning students in either Young Fives or Kindergarten may catch the "Town Bus" to the library, but must have their own transportation home or to daycare. Afternoon students must have their own transportation both to the library and then to school. This is a very fun time set aside just for these students. We hope you can join us each month. The dates for the rest of 2005 are November 9th and December 7th. Dates for 2006 with be forthcoming in January. So, put the dates on the calendar and be sure to join us for Brown Bag Storyhour. Pre registration is not required at this time. |
